IVAN KRASTEV - DEPUTY MINISTER OF LABOUR AND SOCIAL POLICY

He completed his secondary education at the Romain Rolland Foreign Language High School in Stara Zagora with an English language profile. He obtained a Master's degree in International Relations at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski and in Finance at the University of National and World Economy.

His professional career is closely linked to the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, where in 2006 he started working in the European Funds, International Programmes and Projects Directorate.

From 2011 to 2013, he was the Director-General of the European Funds and International Projects General Directorate at the Employment Agency. In 2013, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Education and Science, where he was responsible for international and European cooperation, management of EU funds and international programmes.

During the period 2014 – 2019, he worked as an expert on European integration and was involved in the preparation of positions, opinions, expert studies on topics related to the activity of the Member of the European Parliament, Georgi Pirinski. From July 2019 to 2024, he held the position of Secretary of the Bulgarian Socialists Delegation to the European Parliament. During the period 2021 – 2022, he was Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy.
