Seventy-three municipalities applied to reform 81 nursing homes through funds under the Recovery and Resilience Plan
All 73 eligible municipalities submitted project proposals to reform 81 nursing homes through funds from the Recovery and Resilience Facility. The aim is to provide care services that meet the new quality standards for residential services for adults of beyond-working age. Upgrading these services will provide better care and better living conditions for about 5600 people.
This will become possible through a procedure “Carry out construction activities and supply of equipment and furniture to reform existing elderly care homes”, which was open for applications by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. The measure is in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan implementation and will be performed by funds directly granted to municipalities to implement investments for the elderly care homes renovation.
The projects will finance construction activities, supply of equipment and furniture for elderly care homes. Eligible activities include improving access for people with disabilities to social services buildings and taking measures to increase their energy effectiveness.
The funds allocated for these investments amount to a total of BGN 189,8 million. Of which, BGN 161,5 million are provided under the Recovery and Resilience Facility, and BGN 28,2 million are national co-financing.
