EMPLOYERS WILL RECEIVE FUNDS FROM THE STATE TO RETAIN THE EMPLOYMENT OF WORKERS AND EMPLOYEES UNTIL THE END OF MARCH
The Government adopted amendments to Decree No. 151 / 2020 of the Council of Ministers on determining the terms and conditions for payment of funds to employers to maintain the employment of workers and employees in sectors and economic activities affected by the spread of COVID-19. These changes provide for an extension of the deadline for payment of funds until March 31, 2021.
Funds will be paid for employees who, during the period from March 13 to December 31, 2020, have worked part-time, have used leave under Article 173a of the Labour Code, or their work has been suspended due to the introduction of temporary business restrictions. Employees should have an employment relationship with the employer before 1 October 2020.
The amount of the aid from the state will amount to 60 percent of the insurance income and 60 percent of the insurance contributions due by the employer for the month of October 2020.
Until January 15, 2021, employers will be able to submit applications for payment of funds for the period from October 1 to December 31, 2020. Applications will be reviewed and funded under the current procedure.
The financial resources necessary for the implementation of the measure will be at the expense of the budget of the National Social Security Institute and will be transferred to the respective employer by bank transfer from the National Social Security Institute.
