The labour migration agreement between Bulgaria and Moldova is published in today's issue of the State Gazette. The document will be applied to citizens of both countries, who have labour agreement and residence permit for the territory of the other country. The purpose of the agreement is to provide additional opportunities for provision of employees for sectors of the Bulgarian economy that suffer of workforce shortage.
The Agreement regulates the employment of Moldavian workers, without separate work permit, in Bulgaria for a period of 1 year with an opportunity for subsequent extension for total period of up to 3 years. The exchange of seasonal workers between the two countries, for a period of 9 months per year, is also regulated. The workers employed will enjoy the same labour rights and obligations, and work place protection, which are applicable to the local workers.
The agreement is enforced since 11 September 2018.
