The scope of her department includes the policies on social inclusion, demography and living standards, and people with disabilities. She coordinates the activities of the Agency for Social Assistance, the Agency for People with Disabilities, the Agency for Quality of Social Services, and the State Agency for Child Protection.
Nadya Klisurska-Zhekova was born in Pazardzhik. She graduated with a master's degree in Bulgarian Language and History from the P. Hilendarski University, Plovdiv and with a master's degree in Law from the St. St. Cyril and Methodius University, Veliko Tarnovo. She has acquired additional qualifications from the European Institute of Public Administration, Maastricht, the Institute of Public Administration, etc.
She worked in the municipal administrations of Strelcha and Pazardzhik. For two consecutive terms she was a municipal councillor in Pazardzhik. From 2015 to April 2021, she was part of the bar association in the city. In the period 2017 - 2021 she was a Member of Parliament from the BSP “For Bulgaria” in the 44th National Assembly. She is a member of the Legal, Labour, Social and Demographic Policy and Citizens' Complaints and Relations in Non-Governmental Organizations parliamentary committees.
