More than 57 000 unemployed people have found a job through the Employment Agency since the beginnig of 2023
Since the beginning of 2023, the unemployment rate continues to decline and more than 57 000 unemployed people have found employment with the support of labor intermediaries in the labor offices. Nearly 16 000 economically inactive people have started looking for work, and about 12 000 young people have been employed. This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labour and Social Policy Lazar Lazarov in his greeting on the occasion of the 33-rd anniversary of the Employment Agency and its professional holiday.
He congratulated on their dedication and professionalism, the management and employees of the institution and gave his high praise for building it up as a sustainable and modern administration in service to citizens and businesses. “I have high expectations for innovation in terms of the Agency's mission and vision and its approach to change.
Only a motivated and qualified team, such as you, can contribute to solutions that meet the challenges of tomorrow," Lazarov added.
He stressed in his speech, that the labor market environment, high technologies, the digitalisation of the economy, the improvement of artificial intelligence radically change public and industrial relations and lead to intensive changes, new professions and jobs, requiring constant improvement of qualifications, knowledge and workforce skills. “Modern realities require an immediate response to the shortage of qualified human resources as a factor of economic, social and public prosperity. It is necessary to constantly increase the qualification, knowledge and skills of the workforce,” Minister Lazar Lazarov said.
Deputy Ministers Natalia Efremova and Nadia Klisurska also congratulated the employees of the Employment Agency and wished them a lot of health and energy in order to continue to support the employment of people and to successfully implement the state policy on the labor market.
As part of the celebration of the 33rd anniversary of the Employment Agency, a Center for Activation of Inactive Persons was opened in Kyustendil. Its employees will motivate people to be active in the labor market by encouraging them to register at a labor office, involve them in training and refer them to job vacancies.
