Technical assistance through training for increasing of the administrative capacity of national, regional, local authorities and court in the field of gender equality, MAT05/BG/9/3

The Equal Opportunities Department has been awarded a two year project (2006-2007), supported by the Dutch government, to strengthen the institutional infrastructure regarding the equal opportunities for women and men in accordance with the acquis communautaire.
The concrete purpose of the project is to enhance the capacity of the department to provide information, technical expertise and administrative support to national, regional and local authorities and court in the field of equal treatment and gender mainstreaming. In the scope of the project also falls enhanced mainstreaming of the gender perspective in government policies through the establishment of a co-ordination mechanism between the relevant parties with clear divisions of responsibilities and procedures to stimulate the development of an integrated gender equality policy.
Technical assistance under the project, which is financially supported by Matra Pre-accession Programme, is received from the Bulgarian Centre of Women’s studies and Policies (CWSP) together with the Dutch companies Femconsult and SPAN Consultants.
A team of international experts is involved and assists the team of local experts in the main events of the project. The Bulgarian partner – CWSP - delivers the local expertise in the field of law, training, research, and EU accession topics.
